West Fork Trail Access and Parking

Shinnston (southern terminus): From the Shinnston/Saltwell Road exit off I-79, turn left (west) and proceed 0.25 miles to the Exxon station. Turn left on Saltwell Road (WV 131) and follow this about 7 miles to US 19 in Shinnston (traffic light). Turn right on US 19 and go six blocks; turn left at St. Ann's Catholic Church, before the bridge across the West Fork River. Go one block and park along the city street. The trail begins under the US 19 bridge. Future plans call for a trailhead parking lot to be built along US 19.
Enterprise (mile 3): From the Shinnston/Saltwell Road exit off I-79, turn left (west) and proceed 0.25 miles to the Exxon station, turning left on Saltwell Road (WV 131). Follow Saltwell Road about 7 miles to US 19 in Shinnston (traffic light). Turn right onto US 19, and proceed north about 2 miles to Enterprise. In Enterprise, watch for the bridge back across the West Fork River; at the end of the bridge, turn right and park beneath the bridge. Facing the river, the trail goes right (north) to Fairmont.
Worthington (mile 5.25): From the Shinnston/Saltwell Road exit off I-79, turn left (west) and proceed 0.25 mile to the Exxon station. Turn left on Saltwell Road (WV 131) and go about 7 miles to US 19 in Shinnston (traffic light). Turn right onto US 19 and proceed north about 5 miles to Worthington. Watch for the turn back (east) across the West Fork River. At the end of the bridge, turn right into Worthington Park. The trail is at the top of the park entrance. Cross the road to enter the trail north to Fairmont.
Monongah (mile 10): From the Shinnston/Saltwell Road exit off I-79, turn left (west) and proceed 0.25 miles to the Exxon station. Turn left on Saltwell Road (WV 131) and go about 7 miles to US 19 in Shinnston (traffic light). Turn right and proceed north on US 19 about 7 miles to Monongah. Turn right at the Monongah Middle School, then left at the stop sign. There is a large parking lot adjoining the trail.
Fairmont (northern terminus): From the US 250 exit (exit 132) off I-79, go north on US 250. At the Pizza Hut turn left and follow Mary Lou Retton Drive to Mary Lou Retton Youth Park. Park here, go to the top of the driveway, and follow signs approximately 1 mile on Norway Road to the trail. At the trail, turn left to go in the direction of Shinnston.
