Curtisville Lake offers 695 acres of lush scenery. Around the 30-acre lake there are hiking trails and picnicking. An ADA accessible fishing pier has been added to the lake. The lake is periodically stocked by the Department of Natural Resources and the fishing is good. Activities include: non-motorized boating, hiking, biking, fishing, and leisure activities. Home of the Annual Family Fishing Day each spring on Good Friday, Curtisville is loads of fun for the whole family!
Camping at Curtisville Lake
Curtisville Lake is now home to the best campground in Marion County! There are five RV sites and six primitive sites available on a first come, first served basis. Camping is permitted from April 1 through October 31 each year. Check-in is at 1:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Please choose your site and then retrieve an envelope from the pay box. Fill out the envelope, insert the payment in the form of cash or check, and tear off the tag for your vehicle. Seal the envelope and place it in the pay box.

These rules and regulations are for your protection and the protection of the park. If you are in violation of any of these rules or regulations or your behavior is found by staff to be detrimental to the park or its patrons, you will be asked to leave the park immediately. Please call the MCPARC office with any questions, concerns, special needs or to report a violation of these rules and regulations at 304-363-7037.
The improvements to this park were made possible by CONSOL Energy, the Marion County Commission and the Marion County Parks and Recreation Commission. All three groups are committed to providing the best recreation experience possible and hope you enjoy the upgrades.
- No ATV’s are permitted in the park.
- No Firearms are permitted in the park.
- No alcohol is permitted in the general areas of the park. You must be an overnight guest at the campground and keep your alcohol at your site.
- All children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult age 18 or older.
- Littering is not permitted. Please use designated trash receptacles.
- Be respectful of others and remember the entire park is meant to provide for a nurturing family environment.
- The speed limit is 15 mph around the lake and 5 mph within designated camping areas.
- Restroom areas and water pumps located in the park are not to be used for washing clothes, hooking up hoses to wash vehicles or campers, etc.
- Riding bicycles in the park is permitted between dawn and dusk.
- Wooded areas and hiking trails are only permitted for use during daylight hours.
- All regulations of the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources must be followed, included proper boating procedures.
- No swimming is permitted in the lake.
- No gasoline powered motors are allowed, only electric motors and oars are permissible to power a boat in the lake.
- Do not discard trash or any other harmful item into the lake.
Campground Regulations
- Camping is permitted from April 1 to October 31 of each year.
- Only one camper/RV/trailer or tent per site unless approved by management.
- No more than six people at one site at one time.
- Please choose your site and then retrieve an envelope from the pay box. Fill out the envelope, insert the payment, and tear off the tag for your vehicle. Seal the envelope and place it in the pay box.
- Sites with electrical hookups are $20.00 per night. Primitive sites are $10.00 per night.
- The speed limit in the campground in 5 mph.
- Two vehicles are permitted per campsite.
- One vehicle must contain the tag from the envelope. If a group has two vehicles, both vehicle license plates must be listed on the envelope.
- Please leave your campsite as clean as you found it. Use designated trash receptacles located for your convenience.
- Check out time is 11:00 am.
- Check in time is 1:00 pm.
- No site will be available longer than 14 days to any person or group of people. Simply changing the name on the pay envelope does not permit you or your group to stay longer than 14 days. This allows for the proper maintenance of the campsites.
- Pets are allowed if they are on a leash and under control at all times. Pets must be cleaned up after and pet waste should be disposed of at pet stations. Pets are not allowed in the restrooms or playground area.
- There is not a dump station located at the park. If you choose to use your trailer or RV’s facilities, you must haul the wastewater off site. Dumping wastewater in the park will not be tolerated and you will be fined $500.00 per violation.
- Fires must be contained in your campsite’s designated fire ring. No excessive noise or excessively bright lights are permitted.
- Alcohol is permitted in your designated campsite only. It may not be taken into general park areas. There will be no exceptions.
Playground Regulations
- The playground is available for use to all visitors.
- Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult 18 or older.
- The playground may be used from dawn until dusk.
- Please be respectful of all playground equipment and enjoy it as it is intended.
Picnic Area Regulations
- Picnic areas (other than the pavilion) are on a first come, first serve basis.
- Portable grills are permitted and must be used responsibly.
- Please leave the picnic area as you found it, clean and free of trash.

Directions to Curtisville Lake:
- From Fairmont: Take Route 250 North out of Fairmont towards Mannington.
- When you reach the Town of Mannington, take a left on Main Street, (there are brown signs for Curtisville Lake).
- Main St. turns into Rt. 1 and passes the Mannington Fair grounds.
- Stay on Rt. 1 for about 5 miles just past Logansport.
- Take a left on Curtisville Pike (Rt.7).
- Go about a mile and the lake is on the left.
