East Marion Park
|
Thanks to FIDO, (Fairmont Interested Dog Owners) there is now an off-leash area dedicated to the dogs and their owners for their enjoyment. The park, titled FIDO’s Backyard, features a double gated entry, separate fenced-in areas for smaller dogs and larger dogs, benches, a wooded area, and a nearby picnic area.
FIDO’s Backyard is located at the north end of East Marion Park near Pavilion #5, behind the softball field. Follow the Dog Park signs for more convenient parking. Pet owners are asked to please clean up after and take full responsibility of your pet. About FIDO: |
FIDO is a group of dog owners formed in Fairmont, West Virginia, in order to develop dog parks in the Fairmont and surrounding Marion County areas. We hope to provide recreational areas for dog owners and their pets as well as promote dog-friendly activities in our community.
This approximately four acre off leash area for dogs is located within the East Marion Park Complex and boasts both a wooded and open area. It also includes a separate fenced area for small dogs. Rules for pet owners are posted at the entrance and include bringing only dogs that are licensed and vaccinated with their tags showing. Dogs visiting this park are required to be at least six months old.
