Guyses Run is currently closed for the season and will re-open Saturday, April 15, 2023
Our annual Trick or Trout event was held October 22, 2022 and was a huge success. Follow our Facebook page to see pictures of the event. Guyses Run, an old Eastern, Peabody Coal property in Colfax, WV, has excellent fishing opportunities and unlimited recreational potential. There is no fishing license requirement for this fishing area.
Recent improvements include; new pavilion, restrooms, landscaping, fishing shelters,, benches, picnic tables, an ADA picnic area, grill, steps between the two fishing ponds, and signage. Species of fish* include trout, hybrid blue gill, catfish, large mouth bass, and hybrid striped bass. * All fish are catch and release, except for the trout which can be taken at $5.00 per trout. Max of 4 fish per person. |
Schedule and Admission
Wednesday - 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday - 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Saturday - 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday - 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

- Family (4) - $60.00
- Season passes are available for purchase at the MCPARC office.
PavilionThe pavilion at Guyses Run is available for reservation anytime the park is open. To request the pavilion, please use the link below and an office staff member will contact you to make final arraignments or call the office directly to make a reservation for your next event!

Private Event Reservation
Outside of normal operating hours, the fishing park is also available for private rental.
When: Saturdays 5:00pm-8:00pm Cost: $50.00 per hour Includes: Pavilion (see above), restrooms, trout pond fishing**, and picnic areas within the trout pond area. Reservations must be made by calling the MCPARC office during business hours. **ALL FISH (including trout) are catch and release during private rentals. |

Guyses Run Fishing Park is located off I-79 Exit 137 (Route 310 towards Grafton). Go approximately 2 miles and turn right on Colfax Road. Follow this road for about 1 mile - park is on the right - 3 big ponds and gate).
